Witch / Priest

GraybearI am not a psychologist and I do not offer psychological or psychiatric treatments. However, a primary duty of those in the Craft is to heal and promote good health. A holistic approach: energy work, herbs, counseling, magickal means, exercise, and more, may all be used in an effort to restore balance and health. With that goal in mind, I became a Reiki Master (see below).

Spiritual Duties, are performed in my capacity as a Gardnerian-trained High Priest. However, it would be a mistake to assume that I am a strict Gardnerian Wiccan. My Path has been influenced by many others, including but not limited to: exposure to some Faery training as handed down by One trained by Cora and Victor Anderson; Native American culture through friends of Shawnee, Lakota, Navajo, Comanche, & Apache backgrounds; Celtic influences; Chaos magick; my experiences on many levels with a dear friend who now lives in Moscow; and many others. While not strictly spiritual in nature, I also have several years of experience and training in Korean Taekwon-Do which also works best when practiced on more than simply the physical level. One note about semantics - so many people are re-defining the term "Wicca" that it's meaning has become somewhat clouded. I am a Priest of the Craft and a Witch. I may perform Handfastings (Marriage Ceremonies), Wiccanings (equivalent of baptisms), and Requiems (Funerals) as well as various other Ceremonies and Initiations. This is, of course, in addition to observing the regular Sabbats (Holy / Feast Days) and Esbats (Full and New Moon rituals). Within the Gardnerian Tradition of my training, I am qualified to teach and initiate students through all three degrees of Priest/ess-hood.

Traditional Craft Functions include personal services such as healing, divination, spellwork, teaching. However, the only requests I usually accept for work via the internet is for healing, unless such a request comes from family or close personal friends.

Volunteer Work. I have at times been a member of the Public Clergy for Earth Spirit Pagans, based in Colorado Springs for a number of years. My association with E.S.P. has helped me gain acceptance in mainstream society in an official capacity. In October, 1998, I became a consultant (Wicca resource / advisor) for the Colorado Department of Corrections. I also am the "outside sponsor" for the Wiccan inmates at the Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility near Ordway, Colorado. It is interesting to note that none of the inmates were Wiccan at the time of their incarceration, but have found this Path to have value for them that none other fills.

Wicca 101 classes are available for interested groups or individuals. These classes are designed to provide information about the Wiccan religion to those who might have a professional interest, such as law enforcement personnel, as well as the curious and the serious seeker. If you're not sure of your path, this class can help you discover if Wicca is the way for you. If you are seeking to become a student of the Craft, this is an excellent way to begin your exposure to training and the general Pagan community.

Reiki And Your Health

Reiki is an ancient form of healing much like the "laying on of hands" or "healing touch" you may have heard about. Reiki energy is directed through your body by the Reiki practitioner to enhance healing and improve health. No diagnosis is required as Reiki energy is the life-force and vitality that energizes every living cell in your body. This life-force energy automatically goes where it is needed in the body to promote health and restore vitality.

Reiki works most quickly on recent illness or injury but for chronic conditions, multiple treatments prove effective, also. As with any medical treatment, Reiki is not a substitute for good health habits and regular exercise. Reiki works very well to complement your regular health care professionals. For many conditions, such as high blood pressure, frequent visits to your physician are recommended to monitor your progress. Quite often, medications will need to be decreased as Reiki helps stabilize your body and restores normal health.

For long term, maximum benefits, an initial series of three consecutive treatments is recommended, with additional treatments scheduled as your health warrants. Emergency treatment can be extremely beneficial, even during transport to a conventional medical facility.

Once again, as a Reiki Master, I am qualified to teach and attune students through all degrees. Unlike religious training, I do charge for this service.
